Andres came to the Imperial City a decade ago to visit a cousin, and within a few minutes of setting foot into the Betapunks maelstrom at Blagden Alley found himself painting a huge mural of a lemur's face. The paints he used were old and toxins, and the brushes ranged from a pencil to a mop, but the lemur got done. That mural served as a backdrop to NASA scientists, Bikini Kill, and many others as they performed or lectured at Blagden Alley. Andres never forgot how suddenly a life can be changed by art. "I came back to the Imperial City last year, and found the same people still doing crazy things, except on a much bigger scale," says Andres, who will direct the Chilean BadTV operations as well as produce the newest BadTV entertainment. "Now they wanted a higher level of technology, but the spirit is the same: Stick a brush in your hand and get to work on a lemur's face instead of hanging around to drink a beer and chase the opposite sex. Well, why not? I've got my own artistic imperative, and BadTV wants to include it while pushing me to keep developing my own sense of style. That's cool."
