Most of this compilation is a roughcut of Sandie Black's illuminating documentary on Seanie Blue titled "My Wasted Life: The Deluded Illusions of Seanie Blue." We got this to play as part of the Imperial City's first Environmental Film Festival, because there's a scene included where Blue goes to interview the Violent Femmes at a concert with Midnight Oil. In the press tent, Blue asks a member of the Femmmes if he can look at the camera and say "Fuck Exxon," and the Femmes hem and haw while the concert organizers Concerts for the Environment quickly throws Blue out of the press briefing. Where is Concerts for the Environment now?

I once asked the ethnobotanist Mark Plotkin what he thought about a television show that would be half nudity to catch people's eyes as they surfed, and half biology and science to educate the audience about the destruction of the planet. Mark quick as a wink made this classic BadTV reply: "Not enough nudity." This compilation is dedicated to ethnobotanists everywhere: "Keep up the good work and we'll try to promote you any way we can, even if it means taking our clothes off."
